Tomorrow competition continues with these Young Horse Classes and the first
CSI3* Big Class.
In Section A of the 1.30m, 7 yr old class today there were 75 horses with 44 adding a clear round towards their tally for the Final, held on the 15th of March. Spanish rider Jaime Gabarrón with the CDE (Caballo de Deporte Español, Spanish Sports Horse), Brioni de Vidau had another win today in a time of 64.24 sec. Irish rider Bertram Allen with Fairytale 86 was second in 67.96 sec and Chloe Winchester with Firefly was third in 69.09 sec.
In Section B there were 79 riders and 42 clears. German rider Torben Köhlbrandt with Gepsom Gold was clear in the fasces time of 66.24 sec.Tomas Couve with Aldo Du Manoir was second and Douglas Duffin with Moonface was third.
There were also two sections in the 1.20m, 6 yr old class, with 164 horses over both sections, of which 112 were clear. In Section A there was a British first and second with Rosie Gunn riding Jagerbomb followed by Jessica Crosby riding Harvey. In third was El Ghali Boukaa from Morocco, with Gummi Fee from Morocco.
In Section B the winner and runner top were both Irish. Bertrum Allen with Baila du Loup won, second was Shane Goggins with Go to Fortuna and in third, Ari González with the CDE, Gismo de Pravia.
In the 1.10m, 5yr old class there were 125 horses and 84 clear rounds. Joint first were India Payne from Great Britain riding Piña Colada Z and, from Belgium, Jos Verloy with Happiness VD Hazelhof. In second were the Irish rider Emily Elliott riding Tip Top Cream Puff and the Belgian rider Virginie Thonon riding Corsica de Greenbay Z. In third were two British riders, Samantha Kettle riding Hongkong and Alice Palmer riding Murphy Hof Ter Zeedycke .
Competition continues tomorrow with these Young Horse Classes and the first CSI3* at this year’s Sunshine Tour. This is a 1.45m class and offers riders an opportunity to qualify for the highlight of this first week’s show, Sunday’s Big GP class.
