Allen&‘Kumina della Caccia’; Van Damme&‘Charly Brown G’ and Van Asten&‘Quick-Lover', the best in 7yo

More than 560 young horses took to the rings today!

Tomorrow begins the second CSI4* of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2023

 

Harry Allen from Ireland, had the fastest clear today in the 7yr old classes with ‘Kumina della Caccia’,  stopping the clock in 63.17 seconds. In this first section, he flew around the grass Hickstead and no one came close to catching him. Second was Swedish rider, Jacob Hellström, in 66.20s with ‘Charles’ and in third was Pablo Moralejo Antúnez, from Spain with ‘Flamenco JGF’.

 

The other 7 yr old class was split into two sections and the winners were Bulgarian, Konstantin E. Van Damme, who stopped the clock in 63.17s with ‘Charly Brown G’ and the Dutch rider, Geert Van Asten with ‘Quick-Lover Van Her Eelshof’. The two, second places, were taken by, another Dutch rider, Eric Jr. Van der Vleuten with ‘Graf de Maeza’ and the Spanish rider Carlos Bosch Cebrián with ‘Jolie Van Der Berghoeve’.  There were three horses in third; Spanish, Enrique García-Gallardo García with ‘Can’t Stop de Bo Z’; and two on equal times; Danish, Jennifer Pedersen with ‘Indra’ and British, Nicole Lockhead Anderson with ‘Conthargo PS’.

 

In all 204 competitors jumped in these classes with 92 adding another clear round to their tally for qualification in the Final, next week.

 

In the 6yr old class, in the grass Arrayán arena, there were also two sets of results. The winners were, Helmut Schönstetter, Germany, with ‘Elektric Explosion’, who had the fastest time, 26.63s and Carlos Bosch Cebrián with ‘Mega Coupe’. Second places were British rider, Michael Jones with ‘Mister Big Star’ and Swiss, Steve Guerdat with ‘C.H.C. Lilibet’; third were British, Laura Robinson with ‘Millfield Ballencia’ and Brazilian Filippo Ferrantelli con ‘Pepe 348’.

In the other 6yr old class, first was, Rodrigo Szuhai, from Hungary with ‘Chacoontano SZ’; second Danish, Rikke Haastrup with ‘Cassoulet PHM’ and equal third, Rodrigo once again, this time riding ‘Carta Blue SZ’ and Italian, Nuncio Francesco Carcione with ‘Mirafiori Di Ca’ San Giorgio’.

There were 232 caballos in the 6yr old classes with, 113 going clear.

 

In the 5yr olds the Czech rider,  Jaroslav Sima had a brilliant day, taking both first and third in the first class , ‘Senorita JB’ and ‘Sashimi JB’. In second was Belgian, Inge Carton with ‘Madame Van Het Hellegat Z’.

 

In the second section, Belgian riders topped the podium; Eline Goethals was first with ‘Siena Van’t Malsemhof’ and second was Thibault Vermeulen with ‘Fahidi D’Elsendam Z’. In third place was Czech rider,  Emma Augier de Moussac with ‘Simba VD Bisschop’.

127 jumped in this age section with 62 going clear.

 

Tomorrow there is a busy day of jumping with the last day of the young horse classes for the week, an additional 1.40m, 8yr old class and the start of both the BIg and Medium Tours. The highlight class of the day will be the 1.50m Big Tour class, held on grass in the David Broome arena; but also not to be missed, are the three Medium Tour classes.

 

Access to the showground is free including parking in designated areas. As well as being able to watch live international showjumping at its best; there are various restaurants to try and a shopping area to complete the experience and make a fabulous day out for the family.
