One week left until the new edition of the most important Tour in Europe starts

With only a few days left until the XXVII Sunshine Tour edition commences, Dehesa Montenmedios facilities are finishing the last touches and have given a warm welcome to the arrival of the first riders and horses, which will be competing during the next 7

There are some new innovations in this edition of the Sunshine Tour, being the additional week to the sport program the most distinct, as well as 5 weeks of CSI4*, one CSI3*, one CSI2* and over 1.900.000€ in prizes.

This program has had a positive outcome amongst riders. In spite of the complicated circumstances that we are living today due to the pandemic, the Tour has had a new record in the number of entries, with over 2000 horses and 400 riders from 40 different countries, who will visit Dehesa Montenmedio from the 9th of February until the 28th of March. Additionally, the big sponsoring brands such as Longines, Suzuki, Junta de Andalucía, Diputación de Cadiz, Horseware, Caser Seguros, Marqués de Riscal and Equine America have trusted the Sunshine Tour once more and will be present during the competition, betting for the sport and the equestrian competition.

Within this year’s riders that will be competing the following weeks in the emblematic arenas of the Sunshine Tour, we could highlight Steve Guerdat, Kevin Staut, Simon Delestre, Gerko Schröder, Pénélope Leprevost, Henk Van de Pol, Simone Blum, Roger Yves Bost, Jérôme Guery, Jane Richard Philips, Marc Houtzager, Olivier Robert or Gregory Wathelet. These top-level riders have chosen the Sunshine Tour for the opening of a very special season, where they’ll be able to prepare the Tokyo Olympic Games and the European Championships.

The Blázquez family has demonstrated this year once more their commitment to this event and its facilities investing in a new sand arena of 6.384m2, produced by the Spanish company Geolastic, and covering the big sand arena 7 Jappeloup. With these improvements, the facilities have now 11 sand arenas and more than 13.000m2 covered. In addition, the family has been enormously involved in guaranteeing the safety and health of all those involved in the competition, contracting comprehensive disinfection services against COVID 19 from the leading European company Global Health.

This edition will be held in compliance with the strictest health security protocols and will therefore be held behind closed doors but, as of February 9, the entire competition can be followed live through the official website of the Circuit and the official channel of the event ClipMyHorse.TV where you can watch all the competitions as many times as you want and whenever you want.
