Teresa Blázquez and ‘Nasa de Toxandría’, winners of the first Longines Ranking class

This talented pair stopped the clock in just 63.34s to take the win in this speed class held in Milton arena 5

Its a home win in the first Longines Ranking class here at the XXXI Andalucía Pre-Sunshine Tour thanks to a brilliant performance from Teresa Blázquez (Esp) and her long term partner the lovely 12yr old, chestnut mare,  ‘Nasa de Toxandría’, who is by ‘Vertigo Saint-Benoit’ x ‘Chopin Van het Moleneind’.  The pair stopped the clock in just 63.34s.  This speed (FT) ranking class was set at 1.45 held in the Milton arena 5 and designed by Marcos Núñez.

 

In second place was the Dutch rider Rogier Linssen with ‘Moneypenny’, stopping the clock in 63.60s.  Kendra Claricia Brinkop from Germany had another day of top results this time coming in third with ‘Surprising Dream S.H.O.Z’.  Another German rider,  Helmut Schönstetter and ‘Toulanda Degli Assi’, took fourth place and in fifth was our other home rider,  for Spain, Armando Trapote with ‘Karl P’.

Ireland were top of the podium in the 1.40, 2PhSp with a great round from Coen Williams and ‘Philly Fogarty’ (‘Aganix du Seigneur’ x ‘Harlequin du Carel’) stopping the clock in the second phase, in just 21.87s, almost 1 second in front of German rider Jens Baackmann with ‘ABC Saving Grace’.  In third was Brazilian rider, Felipe Guinato with ‘Garota de Ipanema MC’;  fourth was British rider, Chad Fellows with ‘Continent 7’ and Swedish rider, Filippa Fant was fifth with ‘Lordana DC’. 

 

Felipe Guinato took the top spot in the 1.30, this time with ‘Chiron RC’  and Filippa Fant was second with ‘El Nino Fly’.  The rest of the placings were:  Austrian rider,  Christoph Obernauer and ‘Kleons Upside’; German rider, Katharina Mock with ‘Boston du Banney’ and Swiss,  Ruedi Müller with ‘Ding Dong Courcelle’. 

 

There was a British win in the 1.20 from James Whitaker with ‘Churchill IV’, beating off a challenge from the Spanish rider, Jaime Astolf and ‘Land Ho Mister Mars’.  Third was Ruedi Müller with ‘Cayenne Fleur Sw Z’;  there were two riders in fifth place on an equal time; British, Grace Walker with ‘Bigstar Derick’ and Spanish, Antonia Etzel with ‘Nina Van Het Avenhof’.

 

James Whitaker was also top of the podium in the 1.10 with ‘Calgari Boy’, following on was Swedish rider, Sara Forslin with ‘Cidfire EN’ .  Two Swiss riders took the next places, Steffi Theiler with ‘Verona Z’ and Ruedi Müller with ‘Cassidy L CH’.  In fifth was British rider, Sophie Price with ‘FC Twente’.

 

In the Young Horse classes: Spanish, Mickey Seaquist and the stallion ‘Leonard T&L Z’ by ‘Lavallino Ter Klomp’ x  ‘Richebourg’, won the 7yr olds today,  stepping up from their second place yesterday.  British Alfie Bradstock was second with ‘Arizona Ospa Z’ and also fourth with ‘Cash Cash de Longchamps Z’.  Kendra Brinkop was third with  ‘Chattanooga Pommex Z’ and in fifth was Armando Trapote with the Spanish Sportshorse, CDE  ‘Arezzo de Llamosas’. 

 

Alfie Bradstock completed a great day of jumping today,  by winning with ‘Primera B’ in the 5yr olds class.  ‘Tarmitaga de Folch’ with the Spanish rider, Jesús Folch Redondo was second, followed by; ‘Pavarotti VDE’ and Pedro Mateos Bernáldez;  ‘Bella Ciao MKM Z’ and Cassandre Malherbe and once again, Mickey Seaquist with ‘Coona Blue PS’. 

 

Jumping continues here at Montenmedio tomorrow, with the CSI2*and the 5 and 6yr Old YH classes.
