The second CSI3* started today here at the Sunshine Tour with the Big Tour classes.
As the Young Horse classes for this week draw to a close and these horses finish their week of hard work and good results; the second CSI3* begins today here at Montenmedio. Now the more experienced, mature horses take to the arenas for an exciting weekend of top showjumping.
The American rider Andrew Ramsay and his 15 yr old mare “California 62” proved to be unbeatable with a time of 65.53s in the Big Tour D, 1.50m class. They won relatively easily, with more than 3s in hand over the Portuguese rider Nuno Tiago on “Disco”. In third place was the very consistent Turkish rider , Omer Karaevli. Andrew Ramsey has had many excellent results in International 2 and 3* classes with this mare since he took the over ride in 2016.
In the 1.40m the veteran rider Rutherford Latham took the win riding “Un de plus du Clocher”, followed by the Irish rider Richard Howley riding “Farianne” and Vincent Voorn from the Netherlands, was third on “Dante”.
The 1.35m was won by the talented Spanish rider Otti Verdu riding the very fast mare “Twiggy Ka”. Otti has just arrived at the Tour and has previously topped many a podium here.
