The German national anthem played out across the arenas here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour today, celebrating the win for Daniel Deusser in the Dunas de Barbate Trophy; a Longines Ranking class. Daniel was the only rider clear in under 67s, he flew around the 1.50m course in the main David Broome, grass arena; stopping the clock in 66.62s with the 14yr old stallion, ‘Bingo STE Hermelle’, by ‘Number One D’Iso’ x ‘Diamant de Semilly’. In the runner up position was his compatriot, who took this same place yesterday, Kendra Brinkop with ‘MA Belle’ (‘Ugano Sitte’ x ‘Bayard D’Elle’) in 67.27s. In third was the Dutch rider, Rogier Linssen with ‘MoneyPenny’, by ‘Sea Coast Don Touch Tiji’. In fourth was the French rider, Penélope Leprevost with ‘Djagger Semilly’ (‘Diamant de Semilly’ x ‘Apache D’Adriers’) and in fifth was Spanish, Castora Ortiz with ‘Robinson’ (‘Chintan’ x ‘Conthargos’).
In the second Ranking class of the day, the Medium Tour 1.45, there was an Irish winner, Mark Mcauley with ‘Fury Nocturne’ (‘Volnay du Boisdeville’ x ‘Jeff D’Or’) and the next three places went to Belgian riders, Thibault Philippaerts, second with ‘Gift des Lunes’ (‘Windows VH Costersveld’ x ‘Kannan’); Daan Bernaerts, third with ‘Nueva Epoca de Regor’ (‘Nabab de Reve’ x ‘Querlybet Hero’) and Dries Dekkers, fourth with ‘Agnes’ (‘Algot 1182’ x ‘Ampere’). In fifth was the French rider, Thomas Lambert with ‘Quinine Van de Peerdebos’ (‘Comme Il Faut’ x ‘Prince de Revel’).
The Big Tour 1.45, was won by the French rider, Alexis Goulet with ‘Celine RBF Z’ (‘Cape Coral RBF Z’ x ‘Quadros 3’) followed by Brazilian, Andre Reichmann with ‘Cookie du Bassin’ and Austrian, Christoph Obernauer with ‘Kleons Jana’.
The Big Tour, 1.35, was won by Estonian, Grete Veske with ‘Basic’ (‘Baluga’ x ‘Lavall 5’) keeping up a great record, no lower than fourth place in this class in 5 outings here at the XXXI Andalucía Sunshine Tour. Second was Swedish, Sofía Westborg with ‘Hello HX’ and third the Dutch rider, Michael Greeve with ‘Rubens’.
The Medium Tour 1.40, was split into two and both top spots went to the Spanish riders, Álvaro González de Zárate with ‘Kristal’s Beauty B’ and Carolina Villanueva with ‘Voice de Chaneie’. Second places were taken by Portuguese, Hugo Tavares with ‘Berlouke Al Z’ and German, Gerrit Nieberg with ‘Dalmore N’. Third places went to Spanish, Jaime Astolfi with ‘Land HO Mister Mars’ and Alexis Goulet with ‘Fiore Z’.
There was a Spanish top two in the Small Tour 1.40, from Leticia Riva Gil with ‘Amaretto du Surgeon’ and Maya de la Joya with ‘Un Lord du Rozel’. In third was Portuguese Martim Portela de Morais with ‘Jamal F’.
Best in the Small Tour 1.35 were French, Faustine Laferrerie with ‘Napa PS’; German, Vincent Elbers with ‘Graf de Maeza’ and Irish, Marta Hughes-Bravo with ‘HHS Figero’. Marta also went on to win the Small Tour 1.30 with ‘Miss Belgium 111’; British, Jessica Hewlett with ‘Ilmar HBC’ was second and third was Swiss, Steffi Theiler with ‘Grand Cru B’.
Classic Tour results: French, Mathieu Lambert and ‘Easy Cash Du Sey’ won the 1.30; Moroccan, Soukaina Ouaddar with ‘Colibri de Hus Z’won the 1.20 and Irish, Sorcha Gamble with ‘My Sina VD Kalevallei’ the 1.10.
Competition continues tomorrow here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo a Andalucía Exterior, and the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz. There will be thirteen classes over the day, including one Longines Ranking class and a fun, six bar competition.
