Dutch, Rogier Linssen and ‘Moneypenny’ fly to victory in the 1.45, CSI3* Ranking class today

Second was Germany, Claricia Brinkop with ‘Surprising Dream S.H.O. Z’ and third was British, Joshua Hutchins with ‘Kyrah’

The Milton arena was the location of the CSI3*, Longines Ranking 1.45, Two Phase class today. There were 46 entries and competition was very hot. In the end it was the Dutch rider, Rogier Linssen with his 10 year old mare ‘Moneypenny’, by ‘Sea Coast Don't Touch Tiji’ and owned by Esperanza Imports, who absolutely flew around the second phase to win the class in just 23.06s; an important result for this combination in the second week here at the Andalucía Pre-Sunshine Tour, and a consolidation of their results from last week in the 2* where they took a second and seventh place.

Kendra Claricia Brinkop for Germany was second with the very fast ‘Surprising Dream S.H.O.Z’ (‘Stakkato’ x ‘Carthago Z’) in just 23.50s. Joshua Hutchins from Britain, on his first outing here with ‘Kyrah’ (‘Zapatero VDL’ x ‘VDL Zirocco Blue’) took a well deserved third place, in 23.84s. Fourth was another top winner here, the German rider, Jens Baackmann with the lovely, ‘Cinderella’ (‘Casallco’ x ‘Heartbreaker’) and for Spain, Armando Trapote Mariscal took fifth with ‘Conthargo-Blue’ (‘Conthargos’ x ‘Chacco-Blue’) and also sixth with ‘Karl P’ (‘Carrera VDL’ x ‘Burggraaf NV’).

The 1.40 class was held in the morning in the Baloubet du Rouet arena and was won by the very consistent Hungarian rider, Laszlo Toth with ‘Toll Central’, a nine year old by the famous stallion ‘Cornet Obolensky’ x ‘Accarat’. In second was Brazilian, Felipe Guinato with ‘Chiron RC’; third was Spanish, Jorge Bidón Daurella with ‘Donatella Du Landel’ followed by Belgian rider, Charlotte Delhalle with ‘Nuance de la Limite Z’ and Kendra Claricia Brinkop with ‘Chinook Pommex Z’.

There was a British win in the 1.30 from Ava Vernon with ‘Volnay de Choc Z’.  Helmut Schönstetter was second with ‘EIC Castiglione’ for Germany and third was the Spanish rider, Rocío Sainz de Rozas with ‘Ingela del Maset’, and finally, Kendra took both fourth and fifth places, with ’Astigo Z’ and ‘Chattanooga Pommex Z’.

Malta provided our winner in the 1.20 class from Victoria Sprogis with ‘CSF Foxy Lady’ (‘K.E.C. Maximum Joe’ x ‘Argentinus’). In second was the Saara Kojola from Finland with ‘Quart Van de Heemstede’.  The following places were all taken by Spanish riders, Mario Peña Sánchez with ‘Roxette HT’ then Lucas Hernández González took both fourth and fifth with ‘Carwyn HS Z’ and ‘Cincettte PS’

In the last CSI3* class today, the 1.10, Swedish rider, Sara Forslin was the winner with ‘Cidfire EN’ (‘Corporal VDL’ x ‘Zeppelin’). Second was Spanish rider, Lucía Gamaza Mairena with ‘Galteemor Lucy’ and third Czech, Dominika Knox with ‘Churchill IV’.  Fourth, was Spanish rider, Eduardo Ortega Polo with ‘Cornetto de Ultra Z’ and fifth was Belgian, Cassandre Malherbe with ‘Mylove Des Mines’.

The Young Horses also jumped today with ‘Arizona Ospa Z’ winning the Seven Year old class; this super gelding not having touched a pole in all of the five classes they have jumped here so far, slotting up this win after a fourth, third and two second places so far.  Clearly one to watch and a great partner with the British rider, Alfie Bradstock.

Helmut Schönstetter is also a talented rider with his young horses, today steering two of them into the top places in the class,  Así ‘De Luxe de Plaisir’ was second and ‘Chagrandina PS’, was fifth. Kendra Claricia Brinkop continued her great day here, and took third, fourth and sixth today:  ’Sniper Des Lilas Blancs’ in third, ’Sir Diamant Horta’ in fifth and ‘Abercrombie Pommel Z’ in sixth.

Cassandre Malherbe also continues her run of super results; today she won the five year olds with ‘Bella Ciao MKM Z’.  Second was ‘Conan de Folch’ with Spanish rider, Jesús Folch Redondo. Another talented, this time a French rider steered two of her horses to the top of the field, Mathilde Longy who was third with ‘Kali D’Esteillou’ and fourth with ‘Kristal de Mazin’. In fifth was Portuguese, Alexandre Relvas with ‘Qaya de Sao Miguel’.

Tomorrow we continue with five clases in the CSI3* and the five and six year olds will be back in the arenas. The Andalucía-Pre Sunshine Tour, is kindly sponsored by the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior de la Junta de Andalucía and by the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz.
