Moroccan rider, El Ghali Boukaa had a really tight victory today in the Fundación Montenmedio Contemporánea Trophy class with ‘A Kyss’, a 15yr old mare by ‘Diamant de Semilly’and owned by Karim Tazi. The pair had a really accurate round in the David Broome main arena, over a demanding and twisty course, stopping the clock in 67.71s and taking the lead from the Spanish rider, Álvaro González de Zárate who was a hair’s breadth behind with the ten year old mare, ’Casa Diva PS’, by ‘Casallco’, and who finished in 67.76s.
The French rider Nicolas Sers with ‘Eleven de Riverland’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Diamant de Semilly’) was third and Swiss rider, Alain Jufer with ‘Dante’ (‘Diarado’ x ‘Luxius’) was fourth. In fifth place was Belgian, Andres Vereecke with ‘Halima Van Het Bonte Hof Z’ (‘Hos D’O’ x ‘Heartbreaker’).
The event was sponsored by the Montenmedio Contemporánea Foundation, which is located just a few minutes from the Andalucía Sunshine Tour site and whose art collection includes more than 40 projects. These are created specifically for the installations unique and natural setting by nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Susana Solano, Marina Abramovic’ and James Turrell, amongst many others.
In the other Longines Ranking class of the day, the Medium Tour 1.45, French rider, Nicolas Sers was top of the podium with the eight year old stallion, ‘Horizon des Partages’ (‘Candy de Nantuel’ x ‘Norway de la Lande’), stopping the clock in the second phase in 27.19s. Second was German rider, Helmut Schönstetter with ‘Toulanda Degli Assi’, an 11 year old mare by ‘Toulon’ x ‘Nabab de Reve’; and in third was another French rider, Alix Ragot with ‘Gueule D’Amours’ (‘Contendro’ x ‘Narcos II’). In fourth was Álvaro González de Zárate his second top spot today, this time with ‘Najac VH Kluizebos’, and fifth was Irish, Jeremy Sweetnam with ‘Come to Me’.
Swiss rider, Noah Keller and ‘Erlita de Galeste’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Rosire’) were the winners of the Big Tour 1.45. They held the lead from a double challenge by French rider, Alexis Goulet who took both second and fourth places, with ‘Fiore Z’ (‘For Pleasure’ x ‘Spartacus TN’) and ‘Kaylee’ (‘Carrera VDL’ x ‘Numero Uno’). Slipping neatly into third place was Dutch, Michael Greeve with ‘Minerva M’ (‘Falaise de Muze’ x ‘Indorado VDL’) and in fifth was British, Ronnie Jones with ‘Key West’ (‘Otangelo’ x ‘Phin-Phin’).
The Big Tour 1.35, was won by Portuguese Hugo Tavares with ‘Berlouke AL Z’ followed by the Dutch rider Yoni Van Santvoort with ‘Majeur S’ and Italian rider, Camila Vittadini with ‘Edana 6’ in third.
Spanish, Kevin González de Zárate and ‘Climpy The Best’ were one of the winners of the Medium Tour 1.40, which was divided into two and the other winner was French, Mathieu Lambert with ‘Easy Cash du Sey’. Second places were taken by Italian, Andrea Pisani with ‘Charlemagne JT Z’ and Swedish, Sofía Westborg with ‘Hello HX’. The third placings went to Michael Greeve with ‘Rubens’ and Belgian, Dries Dekkers with ‘Penelope Van’t Ruytershof’.
Hungarian rider, Laszlo Toth was the winner of the Medium Tour 1.30 with ‘Ching’; second was Moroccan, Badr Khiati with ‘Numax’ and third was Spanish rider, Antonio Mariñas Soto, with ‘Qute Hero TC’. The 1.20 was won by Swedish, Marta Elander Wister with ‘Chagall des Erables Z’; Yoni Van Santvoort was second with ‘Esprit’ and Belgian, Cyril Cools was third with ‘Cunenvio EB’.
In the Small Tour, 1.40, French rider, Nohlan Vallat was our winner with ‘Eole Cyclamen’ followed by two Italian riders in the next placings, Franceso Turturiello with ‘Cornetto 60’ and Francesco Correddu with ‘Agrado’.
Swiss, Emilie Paillot and ‘Hostrale de Vitrac’; followed by Spanish, Carlos Redondo Abollado with ‘Ice Age 111’ and Swedish Sara Movidson-Hellström with ‘Caroline’ were the top three in the 1.35. In the 1.30 British rider, Jessica Hewlett with ‘Ilmar HBC’ took the top spot; Moroccan Alia Benbrahim was second with ‘Erocco’ and British, Ted Bastian-Mason with ‘Areeb O.L.’ completed the podium.
The Classic Tour results: French rider, Faustine Laferrerie took the top two spots in the 1.30, with ‘Solana PS’ and then ‘Helsinky de Laume’. Moroccan Soukaina Ouaddar was the winner of the 1.20 with ‘Colibri de Hus Z’ and the Belgian rider, Charlotte Berghmans was the winner of the 1.10 with ‘So Easy KDW Z’.
Competition continues tomorrow here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and also the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz. There are 12 classes including the Small Grand Prix a Longines FEI Ranking class.
