‘Gwendolyn’ with German rider, Helmut Schönstetter win the 8 yr old class

More than 250 Young Horses are classified for tomorrow’s 5, 6 and 7yr old Finals

‘Gwendolyn’ is by ‘Glasgow-W VH Merelsnest’ x ‘Baloubet du Rouet’, very smart bloodlines that really shone today with her German rider, Helmut Schönstetter in the 8yr old class. This very talented mare stopped the clock in just 62.12s,  just under a second faster than any other clear and starting up their week here in fine style at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour; which is sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and the  Diputación Provincial de Cádiz.

In second place was the gelding, ‘Gorklintgards Caspian DWB’ with Swedish, Alexander Zetterman; whilst ‘Matricia’ was third with Irish rider, Cameron Hanley. All in all 41 jumped clear and added to their tally of clear rounds for qualification for the Final, which takes place on Thursday.

 

Tomorrow we hold the Finals for the 5, 6 and 7yr olds. In the 7yr old Final, 100 horses have qualified with their 4 clear rounds. Three of these have jumped the maximum number of clears possible over the weeks, seven with not a pole touched. These are: ‘Dalido Bv Z’; ‘Tequila Sunrise O.S.’ and ‘Kilnamac Cody’.

 

In the six year old Final there are 74 horses qualified and those with seven clears are ‘Dark Lizard de Nyze Z’, ‘Jazzon de Laumae’, ‘El Bandito Bph Z’, ‘Olivier’, ‘Dexter Z’, ‘Esperanza EH Z’ and ‘Olympia ES’.

 

In the five year old Final there are 79 horses, but only one has a clean sheet with all seven clears, ‘Noee’. However three horses did jump six clears over the weeks: ‘Pidana M’, ‘Championado Z’ and ‘Jinx Z’.

 

Today’s results: ‘Tequila Sunrise O.S’ was the winner of the first 7yr old class with British, Laura Mantel, achieving their seventh clear in top style. ‘Ithem de Quintin’, with Belgian rider, Pieter Clemens, and ‘Salsa de Septon’, with Italian, Andrea Calabro, completed the podium. In the other 7yr old class; ’Felicitas’ and Swedish, Jacob Hellström won with ’Isabella du Ry’ and French rider Alix Ragot in second and ‘Full of Fire’ with German rider, Leonie Böckmann taking third

 

In the first 6yr old class ‘Chacoons Date’ was the winner with Sonia Leena Hugerbühler from Finland; second was ‘Cannolibridge Tag Z’ with Swedish, Janelle Larsson and third, ‘O’Boe’ with British, Spencer Roe.  ‘Chinra Imperio Egipcio’ was the winner of the second class with Portuguese rider, Adir Dias de Abreu, second was ‘El Bandito BPH Z’, with Belgian,  Dries Dekkers, and third was ‘Braveheart JGF’ with Javier González Fraga.

 

French rider, Valentín Pacaud had a super day at the office taking the two top spots in the first of the two 5yr old classes. ‘Amadeus du Mury Marais Z’ was first, and second was ‘Noee’, the only 5yr old that has jumped all seven rounds clear. Third was Belgian, Stephanie Servais with ‘Kornella de Riverland’.

 

In the other 5yr old class the winner was ‘Coolest Choice’ with the Danish rider, Jennifer Pedersen. Second was ‘Championazo Z’ with Portuguese, Bernardo Ladeira Pereira and finally in third, was Spanish Telmo Busca Roca with ‘Celebrity.
