The Milton arena was the site of the 7yr old Young Horse class today a 2PhSp set at 1.30m. The winner was ‘Irreelle de Talma’, a mare from ‘By Ceira D’Ick’ x ‘Quaprice Bois Margot’, who is owned by Michel Guiot and Scea Haras du Paradis. Her French rider, Arthur Le Vot lsteered her to victory with a second phase time of 32.82s, over 3s faster than the nearest competitor.
This was ‘Stan Van D’Abdijhoeve’ (‘Matisse de Mariposa’ x ‘VDL Group Jos Van D’Abdijhoeve’) from the Krismar Stables who took second place with Belgian rider, Mathieu Bourdeaud’Hui in 35.88s. Close on their heels was ‘Chapeau PS’, a gelding from Yeguada Valbanera SL who is by ‘Chacoon Blue’ x ‘Dobel’s Cento’ and who was ridden by Spanish rider, Armando Trapote.
The last two places were also taken by Spanish riders, ’Emeralds F1’ (‘Emerald’ x ‘Indoctro’ de Manilva Equestrian SL’) was fourth with Jesús Torres García and ‘Iglou de Beugner’ (‘Cany de Nantuel*GFE’ x ‘Controe’ de Philippe Monnereau) was fifth with Eduardo Blanco Martín.
In the 6yr olds 30 of the 52 competitors went clear around the 125m course in the Baloubet du Rouet arena. In the 5yr old class 15 of the 29 horses went clear.
The Vet checks were held today for horses competing this week including those in the highly anticipated Nations Cup on Friday.
As for the Cup, it should be noted that the members of the 17 participating teams are now confirmed, and today the draw was held to determine the order of participation for each of these teams in the competition that will take place on Friday at 1 p.m. in the main green arena, the David Broome Arena, following the opening parade. The result was as follows: Great Britain, the United States, Italy, South Africa, Switzerland, France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Portugal, Canada, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, Brazil, Spain, and Colombia.
Tomorrow, Thursday, the draw will be held to determine the order of participation for each of these teams on Friday and the actual event will begin at 13:00 after an opening parade.
Tomorrow will be a busy day of jumping with the three Young Horse age classes, three CSI2* classes, the 1.40, 1.35 and the 1.30 and there are also three other individual CSIO3* classes the 1.50, 1.45 and the 1.40.
