Today the third FEI, Longines Ranking, Big Class was set at 1.50m.  The class was sponsored by Catunambú and 70 combinations entered, all aiming to take home some of the prize money that totalled at 25.000€.

The amazing rider, Laura Kraut arrived at the Tour last Sunday, coming directly from the Wellington round of the Nation’s Cup Qualifiers.  She firmly made her mark  today, winning the class with the 13yr old “Deaville S” by more than a second from the talented British regular here at the Tour, Matthew Sampson.  This is Laura’s second year here at the Sunshine Tour, her team has bought 19 horses in all, of which she will compete 9.  The top Spanish rider in the class was Jesús Torres who thrilled the local audience with a clear round.

In the remaining Big Tour classes the very tight ‘time allowed’ played a major factor today and caught out many riders, who finished on 1, 2 or 3 faults.  In the 1.45m C class, the Dutch rider Kevin Jochems and the mare “Evita”, were the winning combination in the unbeatable time of just 31.54s.

In the 1.40m, 1.35m and the 1.30m;  the Canadian rider Kara Chad, the Swedish rider Karin Amanda Eriksson and finally, the British rider Jodie Hall Mcateer, were the respective winners.

The Medium Tour was held in the David Broome Arena. The top two places in the class were skilfully taken by British riders, Kayleigh Watts with the 11yr old mare“Ninkie De Vy Z” and Jess Dimmock with Billy Fleance. Here the local crowd were able to see a popular Spanish rider from the Asturias region, Sergio Álvarez Moya, competing with the 9yr old mare “Astrale de Launay”.

The Brazilian rider Giovanna Sobania was the winner of the 1.35m class.

The Medium Tour C, 1.30m had a Spanish top three. From a field of 84, first was Marta Mesa de Peral on “Zobia Bella”. Taking both second and third was the Spanish rider from Seville, now based in Madrid, Luis Plaza Vidal.

The Small Tour Classes were dominated by the British riders in this CSI3*.  Ellie Guy took the win in the 1.05m and Jay Halim with “Dane Z” in the 1.15m.  The Spanish rider Álvaro González de Zárate, from the Basque Country, was the winner of the 1.25m class.Escribe aquí tu cuerpo para la noticia
