In a time of 67.53s the gelding ‘Loughnatousa Buachaill’ and his British rider, Jemma Kirk had their first win in the 8yr old class today, a 1.40 speed class in the Milton arena. Just behind in 67.66s was the very consistent ’Gwendolyn’ (‘Glasgow-W VH Merelsnest’ x ‘Baloubet Du Rouet’) with German rider, Helmut Schönstetter and in third was another horse that is always in the rosettes, ‘Baloutina HB’ (‘Balou du Rouet’ x ‘Stakkato’) with German, Katharina Offel. Sliding home in just above 68s was ‘H’Aubigny de Talma’ with Belgian, Nathan Budd in fourth, and in fifth was ‘Chacoons Gisa Blue Z’ with British, Laura Mantel. 29 from 84 pairs jumped clear.
Arena 1, the grass Hickstead arena was the home of today’s 1.30, 7yr old classes. Once again ‘Sniper des Lilas Blancs’ (‘Hamilton du Chapitre’ x ‘Calvaro Z’) had the winning round with German, Kendra Brinkop, in time of 68.11s. A hair’s breadth behind was ‘Caballero Z’, with British, Chloe Reynolds; in third was ‘Tequila Sunrise O.S’ (‘Faltic HB’ x ‘Osmium’), with Laura Mantel. ‘Ideal de Landette’ was fourth with French rider, Faustine Laferrerie and ‘Abercrombie Pommex Z’ was fifth with our winner, Kendra Brinkop.
In the second 7yr old class there were two sections as there were over 100 horses in the class. Fastest of the day was ‘Allstar Van Het Schanske Z’ (‘Asca Z’ x ‘Manhattan’) with the Belgian, Stephanie Servais, in an incredible 63.15s. In 67.19s the other first place was taken by ‘Boy Blue’ with Italian Francesco Correddu. In second were ‘Nazaire VD Watermolen’ with Norwegian rider, Victoria Gulliksen and ‘A Classic Azzaro Z’ with Belgain, Dries Dekkers; whilst third places were taken by ‘Lissete DKG’ with Faustine Laferrerie and ‘Nova Minka GP’ with Dutch Michael Greeve.
In the first 6yr old class, ’Juno de Llamosas’ with Spanish rider, Hugo Álvarez Amaro had their second win this week and third so far this Tour, staying in the top 3 places in all 5 of their outings. This wasn’t the only win for the Spanish rider as he also took one of the 5yr old classes with ‘Umbreo Van D’Abdijhoeve’.
Another horse on top form, ’Danubios’ (‘Canturano’ x ‘Nabab de Reve’), was second for Italian Francesco Correddu; ‘Mr Co-K Van Kattenheye Z’ (‘Mr Uno-K Van’t Kattenheye’ x ‘Cascadello’) was third, once again on the podium with British, Megan Broadway. ‘Tcicero Van Scherpendonder’ and ‘Azzaro de la Pomme Z’ completed the results, both were ridden by Belgian riders, Maverick Van Lent and Ignace Philips de Vuyst respectively.
There was a British flavour to the podium in the other 6yr old class with the stallion, ’Chasalino PS’ (‘Chacoon Blue’ x ‘Sandro Boy’) taking his third win so far here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, with Chloe Reynolds. ‘Oploo’ (‘Zambesi TN’ x ‘Numero Uno’) was once agin up in the top of the results, second with Joshua Hutchins. In third and fourth were Belgian combinations, ’Label Fee de Septon Z’ (‘Lector VD Bisschop’ x ‘Alcatraz’), with Thibault Vermeulen followed by ‘Tapis – Plain Van de Lentamel’, with Ignace Philips de Vuyst. Another British pair were fifth, ‘Valencia CC’, ridden by Ted Bastian-Mason.
The 5yr olds jumped on grass today and there was a Clear Spanish top two in the first class with Hugo and ‘Umbreo Van D’Abdijhoeve’ on top, in second was ‘Celebrity’ (‘C-Indoctro’ x ‘Clinton H’) with Telmo Busca Roca; in third was ‘Pillot BMG’, by ‘King’, with Italian, Giacomo Lanzi. Fourth was ‘Diakato Boy PS’ with Spanish, Fidel Dávila García and in fifth was ‘Dark-Love LJ Z’ with Belgian, Dominique Joassin.
There was another Spanish winner in the second class from ‘Tarmitage de Folch’ with Jesús Folch Redondo. In second was ‘Kill Bill de Circee’ with Bulgarian, Konstantin E. Van Damme. In third was ‘Argentino Doble A’ with Spanish Sebastia Mateu Jurado. In fourth was ‘Charisme de la Marchette’ with French, Valentin Pacaud and in fifth was ‘Queen du Roi’with Portuguese, Hugo Tavares.
