Competition returned to the arenas here at Montenmedio’s Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz. The Young Horses were the protagonists today in the 5, 6, 7 and 8 year old categories.
‘Maluda-N’, was the winner of the 8yr old class, this lovely mare is by ‘Grand Slam’ VDL, dam sire, ’Contendro I’ and she was ridden by the Portuguese rider, Hugo Carvalho. The class was a 2Ph Sp set at 1.40 and the pair had a well deserved victory, stopping the clock in the second phase in a mere 27.62s. 28.28s was the time for ’Maestro G’ (‘Hermantico’ x ‘BMC Nassau’) who came in second with the Dutch rider, Finn Boerekamp; third was ‘Comme Ci Comme Ca’ (‘Comme Il Faut 5’ x ‘Cassini II’) also with a Dutch rider, this time, Micky Morssinkhof; In fourth was ‘Sky is the Limit’ (‘Stakkato Gold’ x ‘Echo Can T Spieveld’) with Spanish rider, Alberto Márquez Galobardes and in fifth was ‘Maggie Mae B’ (‘Casall’) with the German rider, Laura Hetzel.
In the 7yr old classes in the first-class the winner was ’Strike a Pose’ (‘Pankake’ x ‘Chellano’) with the British rider, Harry Bateman; second was, ’Felicitas’ (‘I’m Special de Muze’ x ‘Lord Z’) with the Swedish rider, Jacob Hellström; in third, ’Nice Girl Dito’ with the rider from Luxembourg, Odile Gierech; fourth was ‘Ixes des As’ (‘By Ceira D’Ick’) with the Brazilian, Pedro Junqueira and in fifth ‘Comme Chez Soi V Ijzervallei Z’ (‘Comme Il Faut 5’ x ‘Chellano’) with Belgian rider, Chloe Stampaert.
In the second class the winner was ‘Nouveau Noir Evo’ (‘Diarado’ x ‘Tolan R.’) With Dutch, Mans Thijssen; followed by ‘Bellini O.S.’ (‘Luidam’ x ‘Baltimore’) with British rider, Taio Strevett; third was ‘Tequila Sunrise O.S’ (‘Faltic HB’ x ‘Osmium’) with British, Laura Mantel; fourth ‘Fahidi D’Elsendam Z’ (‘Fantomas de Muze’ x ‘By Ceira D’Ick’) with Spanish, Armando Trapote Mariscal and in fifth was ‘Napardi VD Kruisselbrink’ (‘Apardi’ x ‘Casall’)with British, Olivia Skinner.
There were also two 6yr old classes: the results for the first class were; ‘Lou Van Het Eikenhof Z’ (‘Luigi D’Eclipse’) with the Belgian rider, Cassandre Malherbe. Second was ‘Mr Co-K Van Kattenheye Z’ (‘Mr Uno-K Van’t Kattenheye’ x ‘Cascadello’) with the British rider, Megan Broadway; third was ‘Astronaut L’ (‘Amazon 4’ x ‘Quidam’s Rubin’) with German, Marco Litterscheidt; fourth was ‘Don Juan M Z’ (‘Dominator 2000 Z’ x ‘Lucky Boy’) with British, Joshua Hutchins and fifth was ‘Cean’ (‘Ghost Z’ x ‘Berlin’) with the Dutch rider, Daan Adams.
Joshua Hutchins was also on board the winner of the other 6yr old class with ‘Oploo’ (‘Zambesi TN’ x ‘Numero Uno’); and Marco Litterscheidt took second with ‘Calou US’ (‘Casall’ x ‘Landlord’). ‘Calina Z’ was third with the Italian rider, Edoardo Ingrà whilst ‘Ych Happy’ and the Spanish rider, José Antonio García Diana, took fourth place. In fifth was ‘Courage’ with Finnish, Venla Keränen.
The 5yr olds had FnoT clases today to start off their week and 49 jumped clear.
Tomorrow we continue with the Young Horse classes and the 5yr olds will have their first competitive classes which will be 2Ph Sp’s.
