Marie Demonte and ‘Give Me One Reason DK’ win the Celeste Trophy

Second was Spanish Jesús Garmendia Echevarría and ‘Caramel Blue PS’, third Swedish, Adam Carey with ‘Quebello D’

It is the last week of the fifth Andalucía October Tour and  this 4* event began with a French win in the 1.50 Celeste Trophy from Marie Demonte with ‘Give Me One Reason DK’ (‘By Cera D’Ick’ x ‘Diamant de Semilly’). The class was against the clock and held in the Milton arena with over 70 entries. Marie has had a great Tour so up to now, including jumping two fabulous clears in last week’s Nations cup, but this is her biggest win so far. The pair stopped the clock in just 56.77s taking the top spot from the Spanish rider, Jesús Garmendia Echevarría who was in the lead ‘Caramel Blue PS’ in 57.43 segundos. Third was Swedish rider, Adam Carey with ‘Quebello D’; fourth was Irish, Max Wachman with ‘Kannem J.A.Z’ and fifth was another Swedish rider Antonia Andersson with ‘Bella PS’.

 

The CSI4* 1.45, held in the Baloubet du Rouet arena had a Swiss top two from  Dominik Fuhrer and Bryan Balsiger with ‘Goodluck de la Bauche’ and ‘Checker’ respectively. In third was the Italian rider Giampiero Garofalo with ‘Mister Coconut’; fourth was Columbian, Rubén Arroyave with ‘Diarona PS’ and in fifth was French rider, Arthur Le Vot with ‘Divine de B’Neville’.

 

There was an Irish win in the 1.40 from Max O’Reilly Hyland with ‘BP Limitless’. Second was French rider Robin Lesqueren with ‘Hamilton du Gery’; Bryan Balsiger this time with ‘Highlight’ was third; fourth was Finnish, Saara Kojola with ‘Quartz Van de Heemstede’ and in fifth was another Irish rider, Alice Wachman with ‘Atlantic du Seigneur’.

 

Alice then went on to win the 1.35 this time she was riding ‘Thijssen SR Z’. Second was Columbian rider Santiago Díaz Ortega with ‘Honfleur’; third was Austrian, Bianca Rüscher with ‘Ida RZH’; fourth  was Stephen Wentzel from Zimbabwe with ‘Katy Perry Terma WM’ and fifth Irish rider, Aine Shortall with ‘Killerisk Can Ya’.

 

In the 7yr old Young Horse class, a 2PhSp, the winner was the stallion ‘Diachello PS’ with the Italian, Ricardo Pisani. Second was ‘Irreelle de Talma’ with Arthur Le Vot; third was ‘Idagio D’Ellipse’ with another French rider, Robin Lesquerren; fourth was ‘Diamond Heart SN’ with Swedish, Alexander Zetterman and in fifth was ‘Icone de Laume’ with Swiss rider, Anthony Bourquard.

 

The 6 and 5yr olds had ‘faults no time’ classes today. In the 6yr olds 32 of the 47 went clear and in the 5yr olds, 9 from 18 were clear.

 

Tomorrow the CSI4* continues, including  the Karlswood Trophy 1.50, Longings Ranking class and all of the Young Horse classes continue, with the 7yr olds competing in the 1.35 Estrella Trophy.
