Mexican, Enrique González and ‘Origi van de Zeshoek’ win the Ashford Farm Trophy

British, Graham Gillespie with ‘Veneno’ and French, Emeric George with ‘Dune du Ru’ complete the podium in this 4* Ranking class

Mexican rider, Enrique González was victorious in today’s Longines Ranking class; the Ashford Farm Trophy, with his own 11yr old gelding ‘Origi van de Zeshoek’, who is by ‘Marius Claudius’ x ‘Eldorado vd Zeshoek’. They had a decisive win in the 1.50 speed class which was held in the main grass arena, David Broome. The pair stopped the clock in 64.17s taking the lead from the British rider,  Graham Gillespie with the very experienced 17yr old gelding, ‘Veneno’, who is by ‘Chacco-Blue’ x ‘Baloubet du Rouet’, and who stopped the clock in 64.59s. Just under a second behind Graham was the French rider, Emeric George, with the 12yr old mare,  ‘Dune du Ru’, who is by ‘Vagabond de la Pomme’ x ‘Apache D’Adriers’; in fourth was recently arrived, top British rider, Matthew Sampson with ‘Medoc de Toxandria’ (‘Der Senaat 111’ x ‘Kelvin de Sainte Hermelle’) and fifth was the Portuguese rider, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida with ‘U2 Westleven Z’ (‘Uto Kervec’ x ‘Calypso III’).

 

There was a British win in the Big Tour 1.45 from Joe Fernyhough with ‘Calcourt Countdown’ (‘Westpoint Quickfire’ x ‘Landjunge’), with the fastest round of 34.57s in this 2Ph Sp held in the Milton arena. Just over a second behind was the German rider,  Marco Litterscheidt with ‘Hinde Van de Moldervelden’ and third and fourth places  were taken by Spanish riders, Alejandro Fernández Sánchez with ‘Too Action de Buzalen’ and Jose Bono Rodríguez with ‘Ali Baba HT’. In fifth was another German rider, Zoe Osterhoff con ‘Qaparezzo-A’.

 

There was almost a British whitewash in the 1.35 Big Tour class today here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2025, which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz.

Joe Fernyhough was top of the podium in this 1.35 speed class, with ‘Calcourt Supersonic’; in second was Simon Crippen with ‘Zeus Vancouver’; sliding neatly into third breaking the British run, was the Brazilian rider, Joao Victor Castro with ‘Giulia Hoy’; fourth was Emily Ward ‘Millfield Lottery’ and in fifth was Izabella Rogers con ‘Cantate 47’.

 

The Medium Tour results: in the biggest class, the 2Ph 1.45, was held in the grass, Hickstead arena. Our winner was Swiss, Peter Burri with the 14 year old mare, ’Dubai 64’, who is by ‘Chin Champ’ x ‘Casall’. The Dutch rider, Finn Boerekamp doubled up taking second and third with ‘Jay Jay Es’ and then ‘Epic’. In fourth was Swiss, Anthony Bourquard with ‘Festival Semilly’ and in fifth was the Belgian rider, Pieter Clemens with ‘Grace Blue’.

 

The Medium Tour 1.40 was won by Bulgarian rider Konstantin E. Van Damme with ‘Charly Brown G’ (‘Congress 4’ x ‘Quidam’s Rubin’). Austrian, Alessandra Reich was second with ‘Copyright Cicero Z’; Polish rider, Maksymilian Wechta with ‘Next One’ was third and also fifth with ‘Eldorado’. Slipping in between to take fourth, was British rider Chloe Winchester with ‘Exited Z’.

 

The top two in the 1.30 were British riders, Megan James with ‘C-Mikado Wapiti MP Z’ (‘Comme Il Faut’ x ‘Lupicor’), followed by Adrian Whiteway with ‘Qwintoe Achterhoek’; Dutch rider,  Sem Huizenaar was third with ‘Look Alike’; Graham Gillespie was in the rosettes again, this time with ‘Warriors Glory’ and in fifth was the Hungarian rider, Laszlo Toth with ‘Toll Cornet’.

 

In the 1.20, German Marco Litterscheidt won the class with ‘Jalou du Rouet L’ (‘Balou du Rouet Z’ x ‘Cantos’) and was also third with ‘Carlo Z’. Portuguese rider, Alexandre Relvas was second with ‘Naya Sao Miguel’ and French rider, Theo Guyonnet and ‘Hindi D’Ange’ were fourth. In fifth was Dutch rider Luciano Zandvliet with ‘Madonna’.

 

In the Small Tour 1.40 class, British riders took the top three places, Emily Sage was the winner ‘I Am a Harley’ (‘Harley’ x ‘Otangelo’) and she was also third with ‘Cadiz Z’. Ben Walker took second place with ‘Creevy Pacino Cruise’. Fourth was Brazilian, Felipe Amaral with ‘Diferencio Van Het Lindenhof Z’ and in fifth was Spanish rider, Jose Antonio García Diana with ‘Dearest Diamond RS’.

 

The winner of the 1.35, was Swedish, Wilma Fransson with ‘Aantiq’ (‘Majim G’ x ‘Flyinge Quite Easy 958’) and she also was fifth with ‘Armani Code’. In second was Spanish rider, Nicolás Bidón Daurella with ‘Cuantas de Torres’ and in third was Irish, Grace McHugh with ‘Dhi van de Kapel’. In fourth was another Spanish rider, Carlos Borho Giron with ‘Baltik Des Huards Z’.

 

In the 1.30 class there was a Belgian winner, Juliette Berghmans with ‘Artichaut de Lolif’; second was the Dutch, Daan Adams with ‘Nizam S’. British riders filled the remaining places: Mia Grey was third with ‘Kiana’; Rebecca Marsh fourth with ‘Elegance Z’ and Grace Gilbert fifth with ‘Juan II’.

 

In the Classic Tour, Spanish, Natalia Gutiérrez Blanco with ‘Venus D’As de Pic’ was the winner of the 1.30; French rider, Lauren Alice Paduano and ‘Berthe de Creans’ were the winners of the 1.20 and British rider, Amelia Gardiner with ‘Adonna Z’ was the winner of the 1.10.

 

The last Young Horse class this week for the 8yr olds was won by ‘Radjamerci Van de Vlasbloemhoeve’, the third win in these last weeks with British rider, James Wilson. Second was ‘Danny Boy 111 Z’ with Finn Boerekamp and in third was ‘Comme Ci Comme Ca’, with another Dutch rider Micky Morssinkhof. German rider, Laura Hetzel took both of the final placings with ‘Maggie Mae B’ in fourth and fifth with ‘Emerite de Kergoet Z’.

 

Tomorrow there are 12 classes in the CSI4* including one FEI Longines Ranking class.
