The very talented mare ‘Radjamerci van de Vlasbloemhoeve’ (‘Dieu-Merci van T&L’ x ‘Wandor van de Mispelaere’) had her fourth win here in the 1.40, 8yr old class with the British rider James Wilson. They stopped the clock in 64.98 around half a second faster than the gelding ‘Maestro G’ (Hermatico) who took second place with the talented Dutch rider, Finn Boerekamp. Finn also piloted ‘Danny Boy 111 Z’, yesterday’s winner, into fifth place today. Third place today was taken by the stallion, ‘Mister Coconut’ with French rider Marie Demonte and in fourth was ‘Dia Fina 3’ with the Swedish rider, Emma Emanuelsson.
37 horses jumped clear in this class from the 61 entrants, here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz.
In the first, 1.30, 7yr old class our winner was ‘Fahidi d’Elsendam Z’ (‘Fantomas de Muze’ x ‘By Ceira d’Ick’) with Spanish rider, Armando Trapote Mariscal. The pair stopped the clock in 64.79s going up one place from yesterday’s result and the mare’s best placing so far here at the Tour. Second, third and fourth places went to British riders; 'Wild One HF’ with Emily Ward; followed by ‘Bellini O.S.’ with Taio Strevett; and then ‘Ispanico FZ’ with Harry Bateman. In fifth was ‘Ixes Des As’ with Pedro Junqueira Muylaert who rides for Brazil.
There was also a Spanish rider on top of the podium in the second 7yr old class, ‘Nina Tilla’ (‘Unaniem’) ridden by Jesús Garmendia Echevarría stopping the clock in 61.62s This is only the mare’s second outing here at the Tour, stepping up 3 places from her fourth place in this class yesterday. Just 0.10s behind ‘Nina Tilla’, was yesterdays’ winner, ‘Nau-N’ with Hugo Carvalho from Portugal. Third was ‘Nairobi BMH’ with Belgian, Pieter Clemens; Armando Trapote was once again in the rosettes, this time fourth with ‘Arezzo de Llamosas’ and in fifth was ‘Tania 13’, with Swedish rider, Jacob Hellström.
From the two classes of 152 horses, 74 were clear today adding to their tally for qualification for next week’s Finals.
‘Mr Co-K Van Kattenheye Z’ (‘Mr Uno-K van’t Kettenheye’ x ‘Cascadello’) won the first 6yr old class with British rider, Megan Broadway, this is the first win for the pair who have hardly been out of the rosettes since they arrived. In second place was ‘Ornella’, with Italian, Luca Moneta; third was ‘Lou van het Eikenhof Z’ with Belgian, Cassandre Malherbe; ‘Odisina’; was fourth for the Irish rider, Sophie Dalm and in fifth was ‘Barbie’, with the Danish rider, Rikke Vingborg .
In the other class there was a British top two from ‘Z7 Queen B’ with Simon Crippen followed by ‘Mom Beau Fire’ with Will Edwards; In third was ‘Madara 4’ with the Swedish rider, Lina Renstrom; ‘Two Blue’ with another British rider Karl Robins, was fourth and in fifth was ‘Cornets Love de Manhove Z’ with Xavier Cebria Soriano’ who riders for Spain.
There were 160 competitors in this age group with 72 going clear.
The first 5yr old class was won by ‘Take on me 3’ (‘Taloubet Z’ x ‘Sir Shutterfly’) with Lina Renstrom, their third consecutive win. British pairs took the next two places, ‘Liliana’ with Ellie Townend followed by ‘Dancing Bellarina’ with Grace Shudall Hughes. Fourth was ‘Quiron del Amor’with Alejandro Fernández Sánchez for Spain and in fifth was ‘Uttamaro H’ with the Dutch rider, Michael Korompis.
In the second class, the winner was ‘Arya’ with British, Ben Walker. Second was ‘Uranda J&L’ with another British rider, Daley Fisher; in third was ‘Rockefeller’ with Irish, Emily Turkinston. Fourth and fifth were also taken ridden by British riders, ’I’m Special Balia HD’ with Ruby Barrs and ‘Poker’ with Alex Bishop.
38 of 70, 5yr olds went clear.
Tomorrow we continue with six Young Horses and the CSI4* begins as usual. The new exciting event this week is the start up of the CSIO for the Young Riders, Juniors and Children (on horses) which includes a Nations Cup for each category on Friday.
Today the draw was made for the starting orders: In the Children’s category, the Netherlands will jump first, followed by Portugal and then Spain: in the Juniors, Portugal will jump first followed by the Netherlands and then Spain, and in Young Riders, Belgium will jump first, followed by Spain, and then the Netherlands.
