Once again the very talented mare, ’Radjamerci van de Vlasbloemhoeve’ (‘Dieu-Merci van T&L’ x ‘Wandor van de Mispelaere’) was top of the podium for her sixth win here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz.
This is their third consecutive win, with the British rider James Wilson, surely these two are going in as favourites for the 8yr old Final which is scheduled for this Friday. The mare is owned by Bram & Barbara Bontrup and Heather Larson. Today they stopped the clock in 57.82s, comfortably in front of the Dutch pair, ‘Comme Ci Comme Ca’ and Micky Morssinkhof, who stopped the clock in 60.28s. In third was ‘Mycox’ with the Spanish rider, Jesús Garmendia Echevarría in 60.86s.
Today the 7yr olds had two classes and their last chance to qualify for tomorrow’s Final. The top three in the first class were; ’Izzara du Ru’ (‘Nervoso’ x ‘Apache D’Adriers’) with French rider, Emeric George; followed by ‘Diagolda PS’ with British rider, Izabella Rogers and in third, was ‘Balou’s Lady B Z’ with the Portuguese rider Francisco Fontes. Francisco also won the second class with ‘SES Titanic’; second was ‘Fahidi D’Elsendam Z’ with Spanish rider, Armando Trapote Mariscal and third was ‘Cordian’ with the Polish rider, Maksymilian Wechta. There are 65 horses qualified for tomorrow’s Final.
In the first 6yr old class there was a Spanish win from ‘Juno de Llamosas’ and Hugo Álvarez Amaro, their fifth win here so far. In second was ‘Octavio’ with British rider, Ronnie Jones and in third was ‘Z7 Queen B’ with another British rider, Simon Crippen. The second class was won by ‘True Label DC’ (‘Label D’Amour’ x ‘Elvis Ter Putte’) with Swedish rider, Lina Renstrom. In second was ‘Pennywise’ with the Spanish rider, Kevin González de Zárate and in third was ‘Lou van het Eikenhof Z’, with Belgian rider, Cassandre Malherbe. There are 87 horses in the Final tomorrow.
Cassandre continued her top form by also winning the first of the 5yr old classes with the mare, ’Bella Ciao MKM Z’, who is by ‘Bamako de Muze’. In second was ‘Arya’ with British rider, Ben Walker and in third was ‘Pylot K’ with the Spanish rider, Agusti Sastre Caballero. In the other class the winner was ‘Quiron del Amor’with another Spanish rider, Alejandro Fernández Sánchez. Second and third places went to the British, ‘Uranda J&L’ ridden by Daley Fisher followed by ‘SSH Numeretta’ and Hannah Downes. There are 35 horses qualified for tomorrow’s 5yr old Final.
Today dressage returned to the Andalucía Sunshine Tour with the first 2* National classes and tomorrow the 3* International event will begin.
Today the 5yr old Preliminary winner was Joline Durand with ‘Magic Moment 32’ and a score of 75. Joosen Nadia and ‘Capri’s Jim Beam’ won the Grand Prix class with 67.572 points and also the San Jorge, this time with ‘Moschino 10’ and 67.353 points.
Tomorrow there is a very busy day of jumping scheduled as the Finals for the 5, 6 and 7yr olds take place, and there are nine dressage classes.
