Brazilian rider, Joao Victor Castro with the nine year old mare ‘Lilesta GE’, who is by ‘Arezzo VDL’ x ‘Quidam de Revel’ took the top spot in the Big Tour 1.50, stopping the clock with a very fast round in 66.25s. Kevin González de Zárate was second with ‘Chinixen’ in 67.62s, with the very successful British rider, Chloe Winchester taking third on ‘Korlenski’ in 68.23s. In fourth was French rider, Marie Demonte con ‘Forban de Beliard’ with Belgian rider, Jerome Guery taking fifth place on ‘Indigo’.
The Medium Tour 1.45 was won by Italian, Luca Moneta with ‘El Capone RK’ (‘Cardento 933’ x ‘Julio Mariner’) in a very fast 57.92s and the only other rider to stop the clock in under 60s was Spanish, Álvaro González de Zárate with ‘Casper de Luxe’ in 59.08s. Joao Victor Castro had another top result in this class, taking third place with‘Charon Van Moeshof’. Repeating her result from the 1.50 class and taking third was Marie Demonte this time with ‘Give Me One Reason DK’ and British rider, Emma Crawford was fifth with the ‘Dukes of Hazzard’.
There was British top two in the Medium Tour 1.40, the winner was Iwan Carpenter with ‘Merllyns’s Chacco B’ (‘Chacco Blue’ x ‘Contendro I’) and in second was Megan James with ‘Balouish’; third was Dutch rider, Sem Huizenaar with ‘Look Alike’; fourth was Swedish rider, Emma Emanuelsson with ‘Ladina’ and in fifth was the French rider, Stanislas de Malet con ‘Hector de Laubry Z’.
In the Big Tour 1.35 there was a high number of entries, 116, and the class was divided into two groups. The two winners were British, Joe Fernyhough with ‘Calcourt Supersonic’ and the Spanish rider, Hugo Álvarez Amaro with ‘Casaspezia’ (‘Casalido’ x ‘Böckmann’s Lord Pezi). In second were the Dutch rider, Finn Boerekamp with ‘Let it Be’ and once again in the rosettes and Chloe Winchester with ‘Chakensa PS’. Third places went to Spanish rider, Pello Elorduy Ibarzabal with ‘Ermione du Val Jouen’ and Bulgarian, Konstantin E. Van Damme con ‘Charly Brown G’.
In the Medium Tour 1.30 there was a British win from Jude Burgess with ‘Starcent’ followed by Hugo Álvarez Amaro with ‘Milme’. Third was another British rider, Stephen Lohoar with ‘Luna’; fourth, German rider, Marco Litterscheidt with ‘Jalou du Rouet L’ and taking another fifth place today, was Stanislas de Malet with ‘Harold PS’.
The Young Horse classes: in the 7yr olds, the winners of the two classes were ’Bellini O.S’ with the British rider, Taio Strevett and ‘Noble Style – N’ with Portuguese, Hugo Carvalho. In the 6yr olds the winners were ‘Mr Co-K Van Kattenheye Z’ with British rider, Megan James, their second consecutive win and the other winner was ‘Pennywise’ with Kevin González de Zárate. In the 5yr olds the winner of the first class was ‘Bella Ciao MKM Z’ with Belgian rider, Cassandre Malherbe and ‘Take on Me 3’ with Swedish rider, Lina Renstrom.
Today the CSIO began and tomorrow the Young Riders, Juniors and Children (on horses) will all participate in a Nations Cup round, here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz.
The draw for the order is as follows: in the Children’s category, the Netherlands will jump first, followed by Portugal and then Spain: in the Juniors, Portugal will jump first followed by the Netherlands and then Spain, and in Young Riders, Belgium will jump first, followed by Spain, and then the Netherlands.
In the individual classes today the winner of the Young Riders 1.45 class was Dutch, rider, Yoni Van Santvoort with ‘La Pleasure’. Spanish rider, Juan Riva Gil and ‘Victoria D’Argent’ were the winners of the 1.40 class.
In the Juniors, Portuguese riders took wins in both classes, in the 1.40 class the winner was Alice Laruça with ‘Karim’ and in the 1.35, Filipe Miguens Malta da Costa with ‘Colombe des Quarts’.
In the Children’s section the winner of both the 1.30 and the 1.25 was the Dutch rider, Nanna Adams with ‘Double Dees’ and ‘Ginette VD Kempenhoeve’ respectively.
